Biggest Medical Fraud? Hospital Alleges Doctor Used Suspicious Credentials for Year

A major controversy has shaken Gaya's healthcare sector after a reputed hospital accused its former doctor of securing employment and earning substantial compensation on the basis of allegedly suspicious educational and professional credentials.

According to the hospital's Managing Director, Kavita Nishchal, the case is not merely an employment dispute but a matter of patient safety and public trust. The hospital claims that discrepancies were found in the doctor's academic records, registration details, and personal documents during an internal review.

Speaking on the issue, Kavita Nishchal said, "We will never compromise on the quality of healthcare. We are known for providing some of the best medical services in the Magadh region. Our intention has never been to make money at the cost of patient care. We want people to have access to quality healthcare close to their homes."

Hospital Chairman Dr. Navneet Nishchal, a well-known healthcare professional with more than two decades of experience serving the people of Bihar, has raised a series of questions that, according to the management, require urgent answers from investigating agencies.

The hospital alleges that while the doctor claimed to have completed his MBBS education abroad and obtained medical registration later, records also show that he was continuously working and drawing a salary from the institution during the same period.

The management argues that these timelines do not appear to match and has requested authorities to verify the authenticity of all educational certificates, registrations, and professional claims.

The hospital further alleges that despite receiving senior responsibilities and significant financial benefits, the doctor failed to satisfactorily verify certain qualifications when asked to do so.

Hospital officials say the issue goes beyond one individual. They argue that if medical qualifications can be misrepresented, the consequences could directly affect patients who place their trust in healthcare institutions. The management has called for a thorough investigation and strict action if any wrongdoing is established.

The hospital also maintains that protecting patient safety and maintaining professional standards remain its highest priorities.

Cases involving alleged irregularities in medical admissions, degrees, and registrations have surfaced in different parts of India over the years. Several such cases have been reported from states including Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, where authorities have investigated allegations related to forged documents, admissions, and medical credentials. In recent years, some high-profile cases from Damoh in Madhya Pradesh and Jaipur in Rajasthan have drawn national attention and led to official inquiries.

The accused doctor has denied the allegations. The claims mentioned above are those of the hospital management, and their authenticity will ultimately be determined by the findings of the investigating authorities.
