Motivational Story : A multi-talented inspiring personality from Patna who has built a remarkable identity across several fields.Purnima Padmasna widely recognised as a dynamic banker, she currently serves as Chief Manager at Bank of Maharashtra in Bihar. Beyond her professional banking career, she is also known as a model, motivational speaker, poet, and health and wellness advocate.
Often described as a modern “Woman of Substance,” Poornima embodies the rare ability to balance a demanding corporate career with creative pursuits, personal growth, family responsibilities, and a strong commitment to fitness and self-development.
Her journey is not merely one of success, but of resilience and transformation. Purnima graduated with distinction in Biochemistry, securing a position among the top three students in her college. She once dreamed of becoming a scientist, but due to family circumstances and societal expectations, she had to put that aspiration aside.
For many, such a moment could have marked the end of a dream. But for Purnima, it became the beginning of a new chapter.
With courage and self-reflection, she chose to reinvent herself. Determined to build a meaningful career, she pursued a PGDCA from Magadh Mahila College in Patna, again graduating with distinction and receiving the Best Overall Performance Award. Her hard work soon paid off when she was selected as a Probationary Officer in Bank of Maharashtra in March 2008.
From that point onward, Poornima steadily climbed the ladder of success through dedication, discipline and excellence. Today, she serves at the bank’s Zonal Office in Patna as Chief Manager, earning recognition for her leadership and professionalism.
In 2022, Purnima achieved a dream she had cherished since childhood when she won the national beauty pageant title of Mrs India One in a Million, finishing as the 2nd Runner-Up. She also earned the special titles “Beautiful Skin” and “Body Beautiful.”
This achievement carried an even deeper message. During her college years, Purnima had faced body shaming because of her weight. Some classmates mockingly called her “Bulldozer.” Instead of letting such remarks weaken her confidence, she turned them into motivation. With extraordinary determination, she lost 23 kilograms in just eight months, transforming not only her appearance but also her mindset.
Today, she strongly speaks against body shaming and advocates self-respect and self-care. According to her, every individual is a creation of God and deserves appreciation, not ridicule.
Her journey also shattered another stereotype—that women over 30 cannot succeed in the modelling industry. Purnima began her modelling career in 2022 and soon walked as a showstopper for renowned designers such as Anjalee Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Anupama Dayal. She also walked as a showstopper at the prestigious Bangalore Times Fashion Week in 2024 alongside actor Jason Shah.
Beyond glamour and achievements, Purnima uses her voice to inspire others. As a motivational speaker and health and wellness expert, she encourages people—especially women—to believe in themselves, maintain physical and mental fitness, and pursue their dreams regardless of age or circumstances.
Her life reflects a powerful message:
When one door closes, another path always exists—if we have the courage to discover it.
Through perseverance, reinvention and unwavering self-belief, Poornima Padmasna has emerged as a symbol of empowerment, resilience and inspiration. She truly represents a woman who refused to surrender to circumstances and instead chose to rise, evolve and shine.
